ITAD AFRICA (Pty) Ltd (formerly known as Qobo Recycling CC) is a business that specialises in the disposal of obsolete Information technology (IT) Assets and other electronic equipment. Established in 2007, our team has 20 years of experience in the recycling industry, the company has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, data security, and regulatory compliance. The founder, Andile Mahlangu has 11 years’ experience in the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry over 7 of these years were spent as Co-Founder & Operations Director at Elite E-Waste SA, building it into a formidable player in the ITAD industry. In this role he was tasked with spearheading compliance and human capital development, other key responsibilities included business development- some of the highlights were establishing business units such as online retailing of used IT equipment (E-Device) and urban mining of Electronic Scrap (E-Scrap).

ITAD AFRICA is a level 1 BBBEE company with 135% procurement recognition, we have a strong commitment to furthering broad-based economic empowerment principles in all aspects of our business.

All staff have undergone security clearance and are therefore cleared to operate at all National Key Points.

ITAD AFRICA set out to create an industry solution to the growing toxic e-waste problem in the country, with a primary objective to ensuring that used technology can be refurbished, repurposed, and made available at affordable prices to underserved markets and thus aligning to the socio-economic challenges faced by many in our country. The re-use of IT assets will lead to wider and accelerated progression of our people towards the 4th industrial revolution in which we remain far behind other countries.

Recovering redundant equipment from across South Africa, ITAD AFRICA offers services that are guided by NIST 800-88 media sanitisation standards and are aligned to environmentally sustainable methods of disposal of obsolete IT hardware. We offer value recovery on servers, storage, networking, laptops, desktops, and mobile devices accepting devices from over 100 different brands including HP, Dell, Intel, Lenovo, Cisco, Apple, and Samsung.

IT Asset Disposition

Our commitment is to develop and adhere to best-in-class processes from the point of pickup through to final disposition, which keeps the company at the forefront of industry developments and improvements. We ensure that you have a complete audit trail of the activities from collection point to refurbishment, recycling & data destruction. You will receive a full inventory of your items together with a value recovery and recycling report and, if applicable, Certificate of Destruction

If your device is beyond economic repair, ITAD AFRICA properly recycles it in compliance with the zero-disposal landfill policy as gazetted by the National department of Waste Management. We aim to create sustainable solutions to the disposal of your obsolete IT assets as we strongly believe in aligning our services to the circular economy
